1. Who we are
Spark Chat ("Spark", "we", "us") is a dating and group-chat platform operated by Spark Datin. Contact:

2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, date of birth, gender, who you want to meet, password (hashed).
- Profile content: photos, bio, interests, prompt answers, vibe status.
- Activity data: swipes, matches, friend connections, messages, group memberships, event RSVPs, calls (signaling metadata only — call audio/video is peer-to-peer and not stored).
- Payment data: processed by Stripe; we store only a transaction reference, never your card details.
- Device data: IP address, browser/device type, and basic analytics for safety & abuse detection.
3. How we use your data
- Show you potential matches and group members
- Deliver messages, calls, and notifications
- Generate AI suggestions (bios, icebreakers, date plans, compatibility) via our LLM provider
- Process subscriptions and detect fraud
- Investigate reports and enforce our Terms
4. Who we share data with
- Other Spark users — your profile and messages are visible to people you interact with.
- Stripe — to process Spark+ subscriptions.
- PayPal — to process one-time Spark+ purchases if you choose PayPal at checkout.
- Anthropic / OpenAI / Emergent — to generate AI suggestions (bios, icebreakers, date plans) and audio narration. Content sent to AI is not used to train external models.
- Law enforcement — only when legally required.
We never sell your personal data.
5. AI features, consent & limited use
Some Spark features are powered by third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI via Emergent). These features are always user-initiated — data is only sent to an AI provider when you actively use an AI feature (e.g., tapping "Suggest an icebreaker"), which constitutes your consent for that request.
- Limited use: data sent to AI providers is used solely to generate your requested output — never for advertising, profiling, or training external models.
- What is sent: only the minimum content needed for the feature (e.g., your bio text for bio suggestions). We do not send your photos, messages, or location to AI providers unless the feature explicitly says so.
- Opt-out: simply don't use AI-labeled features — nothing is sent automatically. To object to any past AI processing, email business@sparkdatin.com.
6. Your rights
You can request to access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing
business@sparkdatin.com. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, messages, and matches within 30 days (some data may be retained briefly for fraud prevention).
7. Children
Spark is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. We verify date of birth at signup. Spark does not offer anonymous or random chat — every conversation is tied to a persistent, age-verified profile. If you believe a minor is using Spark, contact us immediately at business@sparkdatin.com.
8. Security
We use industry-standard hashing for passwords (bcrypt), HTTPS for all network traffic, and encrypted storage for photos. No system is perfectly secure — please use a unique, strong password.
9. International users
Your data is processed in the United States. If you live elsewhere, by using Spark you consent to your data being transferred and processed in the U.S.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
