Acceptable use policy.

Last updated · February 17, 2026

1. The deal

Spark Chat ("Spark") is a place to meet, chat, and make plans with other adults. By using Spark you agree to this Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Violating this AUP can get your content removed, your account suspended or banned, and — in serious cases — reported to law enforcement.

2. You must be 18+

Spark is for adults only. We strictly prohibit anyone under 18 from creating an account, appearing in profile photos, or being the subject of any message, group chat, or media on the platform. We use age-gating at signup and may require additional verification at any time.

3. Be a real human

  • Use a real name (or a clearly chosen first name); no impersonation, no celebrity catfishing.
  • Profile photos must show you, with your face visible in at least one photo. No stock photos, no AI-generated faces representing you as a person, no group photos without you tagged.
  • One account per person. Multi-accounting to evade bans or manipulate matches is prohibited.
  • Bots, scripts, scrapers, and automated swiping/messaging are not allowed.

4. Content you can't post

The following is strictly prohibited anywhere on Spark — profiles, photos, video bios, DMs, group chats, prompts, or beacon notes:
  • Nudity or sexually explicit content, including suggestive close-ups, lingerie/swimwear shown out of context, or genitalia.
  • Sexual solicitation, escorting, sugar dating, OnlyFans/PPV promotion, or any exchange of sex for money or goods.
  • Minors in profile content, including your own children. Keep family photos off Spark.
  • Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected class.
  • Threats, harassment, doxxing, stalking, or content that shames or humiliates a specific person.
  • Violence, gore, or self-harm content.
  • Illegal drugs, weapons sales, or instructions for harmful activity.
  • Scams, phishing, crypto/MLM/business pitches, or any commercial solicitation. Spark is not a marketplace.
  • Other people's private info — home addresses, phone numbers, financial details, IDs, medical records.
  • Copyrighted material you don't have the right to use.

5. How you treat other people

  • No unsolicited explicit messages or images. Don't send anything sexual unless the other person clearly asked for it.
  • "No" means no. If someone unmatches, blocks you, or stops responding, do not contact them through another channel or a second account.
  • Be honest about your age, identity, relationship status, and intentions. Dishonesty around any of these is a serious AUP violation.
  • Don't pressure other users to meet, share contact info, share photos, or move off the app before they're ready.
  • Treat people in group chats with the same respect you would in person. Group admins may remove disruptive members; Spark may step in for repeat issues.

6. Safety in the real world

  • Meet in public places the first few times. Tell a friend where you'll be.
  • Don't send money to anyone you met on Spark, no matter the story. Romance scams are a top tactic we monitor for.
  • If you're being harassed, threatened, or feel unsafe, contact local emergency services. Then abuse@sparkdatin.com so we can act on our side.
  • If you witness or suspect any minor on Spark, report immediately to abuse@sparkdatin.com. We escalate every report of child safety concerns to NCMEC and relevant authorities.

7. Platform integrity

  • Don't attempt to reverse engineer, probe, or stress-test the platform.
  • Don't scrape user profiles, photos, or messages.
  • Don't exploit Super Likes, Boosts, referrals, beacons, or Spark+ trials. Any abuse of bonus features may end the trial and the account.
  • Don't bypass safety features like blocks, reports, or geographic limits.
  • API access is for the official Spark apps only.

8. AI-generated content

Spark uses AI to suggest icebreakers, bios, date ideas, and compatibility insights. You're responsible for what you ultimately send. Don't paste AI text into messages without reviewing it for accuracy, tone, and honesty. Don't use Spark's AI tools to harass others, generate sexual content about specific people, or impersonate someone.

9. Reporting violations

Tap the more-options menu on any profile, message, or group chat to report. Or email abuse@sparkdatin.com with screenshots and the user's profile link. We review reports within 24 hours for safety issues and within 72 hours for everything else. We don't share the reporter's identity with the reported user.

10. What happens when this AUP is violated

Depending on severity and history, we may:
  • Remove the offending content
  • Send a warning
  • Restrict features (e.g. messaging, super likes, group access)
  • Suspend the account temporarily
  • Permanently ban the account and any associated devices/payment methods
  • Refer to law enforcement (for serious safety violations, child safety concerns, threats, or fraud)

Bans are not eligible for refund of unused Spark+ subscription time. You can appeal a ban by emailing abuse@sparkdatin.com within 30 days.

11. Changes

We update this AUP from time to time as new abuse patterns emerge. Material changes will be announced in-app and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
